Ferrari Mondial Tires

Mondial QV and Mondial 8 Tires

The first Mondial, The Mondial 8 from1980 – 1982 fitted the same tires as the later Mondial qv from 1983 to 1985 fitted the most modern of tires at the time. The Michelin low profile TRX technology wheel and tire combination, with 390mm wheel rims. The Ferrari Mondial 8 and Ferrari Mondial qv both fitted 240/55VR390 Michelin TRX which we are fortunate that Michelin still produce today as an exceptionally high-quality performance tire.

Mondial 3.2  and Ferrari Mondial-T Tires

The Mondial 3.2 version of Ferrari’s 2+2model the Mondial initially continued to fit the 240/55VR390 Michelin TRX classic tires on the rear, while moving to a slightly thinner front tire the 220/55VR390 Michelin TRX. Toward the end of the production of the Ferrari Mondial 3.2 Ferrari stepped away from the millimetric TRX tires and moved onto more generic 16” wheels and fitted the vintage Goodyear Eagle Tires which are no longer produced. The other period tire recommendation from Pirelli was 205/55YR16 PIRELLI CINTURATO™ P7 N on the front and 225/50YR16 PIRELLI CINTURATO™ P7 N on the rear.

For the Ferrari Mondial T tires, Ferrari carried on where the 3.2 left off, and continued to fit 16” wheels with the Goodyear Gatorback which is out of production, so again we would suggest fitting 205/55YR16 PIRELLI CINTURATO™ P7 N and 225/50YR16 PIRELLI CINTURATO™ P7 N classic tires on the rear.
