When the Lamborghini Countach started to fit 205/50VR15 PIRELLI CINTURATO ™ P7 N tires on the front in the ’70s it was the beginning of a new era of ultra-low-profile tires. From 1978 to 1984, the Lamborghini Countach LP400S initially used the 205/50 R15 tire size for its front wheels. Similarly, the Pirelli P7 in 205/50 VR15 was the chosen tire for the inaugural Porsche 930 Turbo and Carrera models during 1975-1977. It’s essential to mention that inner tubes should not be installed in any 205/50VR15 tires.

Today this 205/50VR15 P7 CINTURATO ™ is part of the beginning of a small range of P7 tires aimed at satisfying the needs of Classic Porsche owners. This P7 is matched to a rear 225/50VR15 Cinturato which was fitted to the Porsche 930 3.0 Turbo and Carrera and the top-of-the-line Porsche 911 of the mid-70s. Many classic PIRELLI CINTURATO P7 tires bear the ‘N’ classification, which means they are homologated by Porsche. Porsche has selected ‘N’ tires as the ideal and best tires for one or more of their classic cars.

The 205/50VR15 PIRELLI CINTURATO™ P7 N boasts a ‘Y’ speed rating, allowing for consistent speeds up to 186 mph/300 km/h. However, for historical accuracy, the tire sidewall displays a ‘V’ speed rating. This is a nod to the era when these tires were initially produced, having a lower speed rating. With contemporary materials, the tire’s speed capacity has been enhanced.
