285/50YR15 PIRELLI CINTURATO™ P7 – The 285/50VR15 dimensions might seem unconventional. It’s notably tall and broad, especially for a compact 15” rim. Yet, this tire isn’t just any tire – it’s custom-designed for the remarkable De Tomaso Pantera. A beast in its own right, the De Tomaso Pantera GTS and Group 3 Pantera sported the 285/50VR15 Pirelli P7 on their 10” rear wheels and were complemented by the 225/50VR15 P7 up front. Marked “104Y” on its flank, this tire boasts a “Y” speed rating, allowing speeds up to 186 mph.

Initially unveiled as the Pirelli Supersport, the PIRELLI CINTURATO™ P7 made its mark in the World Rally Championship, adorning the Lancia Stratos in 1974. This pairing clinched three WRC titles in its debut year, and as the years progressed, the Stratos consistently demonstrated its prowess with the Supersport. Once adapted for road use and dubbed the P7, this tire showcased innovative features like the ultra-slim Serie 50% profile with the 285/50YR15 PIRELLI CINTURATO™ P7. Advances in its internal structure allowed the tire to maintain a slender profile while expanding its width. Moreover, its distinct nylon zero-degree belt set it apart from other tires in its day. Pirelli’s low-profile innovation paved the way for even slimmer racing tire designs, giving rise to the Serie 30 profile.
