Description
205/70WR15 Tires
205/70WR15 PIRELLI CINTURATO ™ CN12 – In 1968, the Jaguar XJ6 pioneered the use of 205/70WR15 tires, a size later adopted by models like the Jaguar XJV12, XJS, Jensen Interceptor, and Citroen SM. The sidewall height of the 205/70WR15 tire is comparable to that of a 185R15 tire. As advancements like power steering became prevalent in vehicles such as the later E-type Jaguar, there was a shift from the traditional 185 R15 tires to the more modern and fashionable low-profile 205/70 R15 size. Nowadays, many vehicles originally fitted with 185VR15 tires opt for the broader, low-profile 205/70 R15 variant.
205/70WR15
At last, Pirelli have remanufactured their fantastic PIRELLI CINTURATO ™ CN12 in the size 205/70 R15. In 1971, the supercar era saw a technological leap with the debut of the PIRELLI CINTURATO™ CN12. As Pirelli’s inaugural super low-profile tire, with 70% profiles, and, for the first time, 60% profiles, the CN12 was crafted to offer exceptional grip and comfort, setting a new standard for super sports cars.
When the 205/70WR15 PIRELLI CINTURATO™ CN12 was originally introduced, it came with a lower speed rating. Now, using contemporary tire compounds, the updated 205/70WR15 PIRELLI CINTURATO™ CN12 carries a ‘W’ speed rating, indicating its tested ability to withstand sustained speeds of up to 168mph / 270 km/h. This makes it well-suited for the 70s sports cars it was designed for.
The 205/70WR15 PIRELLI CINTURATO™ CN12 tire is optimally suited for classic cars including the Aston Martin (DB4, DB5, DB6), Citroen SM, Daimler (Sovereign, Double Six), Ferrari 250, Jaguar (XJ6, XJ12, XJS, E-type), Jensen Interceptor, and Morgan +8.
